Power's Philosophy 101

Early while dating my wife I was just introduced to one of her close personal friends. Over coffee she leaned forward and asked, "So Daron what's your philosophy of life?" Whoa, I thought now here's a deep woman. A sip of coffee, a few thoughts later I said, "Nothing has any meaning except the meaning you give it." She said, "That sounds like a song." I replied, "You're right. I'm going to go home and write it." I titled the song Do the Best You Can. The lyrics are written below.

Do the Best You Can

Nothing has meaning,
Cept' the meaning you give it
Ain't goinna' to change,
Till you do something different
Prisoners here, not of their making
Some are going learn that life
Is for making love
Life's for making love

People hurtin' people,
From earth to space
Defending their Gods,
Killin' their own human race
Some think there's not enough love,
To go around
Some are going learn that love,
Is everywhere to be found
Love is everywhere to be found

There's a bird flying over a mountain
A moon shining bright in the dark
Rising sun will warm the winds of winter
In the spring the flowers come
Yes they do

Take a look around now,
Lay of your land
The shape of your thinking,
Is your present hand
No need to worry,
When you realize the plan
That life is for loving
So do the best that you can
Do the best that you can

Nothing has meaning,
Cept' the meaning you give it
Ain't gonna' to change,
Till you make it and live it
Imagine your future,
Realize your plan
That life is for lovin' so,
Do the best that you can

Learn to love, life
Do the best that you can
